Summary

Cheque Guard ("the app") is published by alzafir.com. The app helps you record post-dated cheques and reminds you before they are due.

Your cheque records are stored on your device. We do not run accounts, and we do not sell your data. Cheque photos are sent to our server only to be read, and are not kept.

Information stored on your device

Cheque details you add or scan (amount, due date, bank, payer, payee, cheque number, notes) and the cheque photo you attach are stored locally on your iPhone. When you enable protection, these records are guarded by Face ID / Touch ID.

This data is included in your device backups (iCloud or Finder) under your own Apple account. We have no access to it.

Cheque photo processing

When you scan a cheque, the photo is uploaded over an encrypted connection to our backend, which forwards it to OpenAI’s API to extract the printed fields. The extracted text is returned to your device.

We do not store the photo or the extracted text on our servers after the response is returned. OpenAI processes the image as our data processor and, per its API terms, does not use API content to train its models.

Feedback and contact messages

If you send in-app feedback or use the contact form on this website, we receive the message, your email address (if provided), and basic technical details (app version, device model, OS version, language, region). We use this only to reply and to improve the app.

Notifications

Reminders are scheduled locally on your device. We do not operate a marketing push service. Remote notification capability is used only for delivery of reminders you configure.

Subscriptions

Cheque Guard Plus is sold through Apple’s In-App Purchase. Payment and subscription management are handled by Apple; we receive only anonymous purchase status from Apple’s framework and never see your card details.

What we do not do

We do not use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs. We do not build advertising profiles. We do not sell or rent personal data.

Data retention

On-device data stays until you delete a record or remove the app. Contact and feedback messages are kept for up to 24 months, then deleted.

Your rights

You can delete any cheque record in the app at any time. For access to or deletion of contact/feedback messages you have sent us, email support@alzafir.com and we will respond within 30 days.

Children

The app is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We will update this page and the "last updated" date when this policy changes. Material changes will be noted in the app.
